This article gives an overview how you can watch video with Linux - a video file (e.g. .MPG), DVDs with menues or DVDs without menues.

SUSE Linux

To watch video, you want a player that can play DVDs with menues, DVDs without menues and video files like *.mpg. The player that can do all this is named vlc. To install it add the videolan repository as from http://en.opensuse.org/Additional_YaST_Package_Repositories#VLC_VideoLan_Client to your online repositories. Then install vlc:

yast -i vlc
